To combat COVID-19, IIIT bhagalpur has put forward a small step in the form of software development to detect coronavirus. To discuss and decide the way forward in this direction a meeting was conducted on May 17 under the guidance of Choubey though video conferencing.

In the meeting ,the ongoing development on this project was discussed. Prof. Arvind Choubey, has demonstrated about the currently developed software and requested for providing necessary data of X-Rays so that the software can be trained.
All the members have praised the initiative of IIIT Bhagalpur and encouraged to work on this project.
But Dr. P K Das has raised his concern regarding ratio of pneumonia, asymptomatic cases and it’s correlation with COVID-19 infected X-Rays data. Prof. Arvind Choubey has clarified that, software is not inclined towards asymptomatic cases and the detection is based on identifiable changes in the X-Rays data which can’t be done through normal inspection. To identify these changes and develop an accurate model and declare it as corona patients more number of labelled X-Rays data is required.
Choubey has told IIIT bhagalpur that, incorporate all the changes as suggested by the technical experts & doctors. The technical team of health department will also help for the development of software and provide the required data for the development of corona detection software, he assured. He also assured for involving ICMR and AIMS,New Delhi in this mission.
Arjit Shashwat Choubey said that the new invention by IIIT, Bhagalpur would save time and money. “ Places like Bhagalpur presently don’t have RTPCR equipment so only screening has been conducting by rapid kit. But for confirmation of COVID-19 positive or negative , all the samples are being sent to Patna. This new invention would certainly be a miracle ,” he said.
