Another feather in Unnayan’s cap : Banka student secures under top 20 position in Bihar board’s result

Unnayan once proves it!

The Unnayan Banka initiative, which has been using modern technology to deliver quality education at the doorstep of students who otherwise cannot even afford to avail it owing to the economic and locational constraints, has managed to change the scenario at Banka, an otherwise sleepy district in eastern Bihar.

Unnayan Banka not only helped student in securing under top 20 but students from most backward and poor family backgrounds from remote Maoists ravaged hinterlands secured 75-85 percent marks this time from the district.

For the first time in the history, one Suprabhat Kumar managed his position under top 20 in Bihar school examination board (BSEB) school final examination 2018. Not only Suprabhat, 15 percent progress in the result of the board examination in the district with 61 percent pass out students this time created new records this time.

“It is a matter of joy and pride for Banka district and the team that has worked tirelessly to ensure that the Unnayan Banka project could achieve the such great success from the students here ,” Banka district magistrate Kundan Kumar told, reacting on Bihar board’s result 2018.

He said that the project was launched on August 15, 2017, the initiative uses modern technology to deliver quality education to students even in remote areas of this eastern Bihar district. Its quality has attracted students from outside the district also. It uses mobile phones and smart TVs to deliver its services. Smart TVs have been installed in 40 government schools of Banka district where students attend virtual classes in which teachers and experts residing somewhere else teach them different subjects. “Our experiment over a year yield such great achievement, earlier there was not a single student even managed very good result, today secured under top 20,” he joyfully said.

Suprabhat Kumar, who appeared from Government High school Jethour, Banka and secured 447 marks (89.4%) said that both Unnay smart class and capsule course launched by the district administration had helped him to secured the marks. Hailing from most backward and remote village, Shikanpur under Banka block, Suprabhat the son of Sanjeev Kumar, a private teacher, expressed his gratitude to the district admonition, particularly Kundan Kumar.

Miracles taken placed at SS girls school, Banka from where more than one and half dozen girls this time secured 75-85 percent marks. “After our session was over, we had some two and half month in our hands to study and during that period special Unnayan smart classes with the capsule course was taken up by teachers,” recalled Anjali a student from Maoists infected Belhar block who secured 79 percent marks.

Not only at SS girls school, such classes were arranged in different schools in Banka. During the last test in the smart class students in the schools, Suman  Kumar who ranked 1 st, scored 422 in the board’s exam, Neha who stand second, scored 391 and Chandan Kumar who appeared third position, scored 383 marks in the board examination.

“Unnayan so far succeeded in providing placements jobs to unemployed youths in different companies like Tata consultancy services (TCS) now added another feather in its cap; succeeded also upgrading the quality in the result of the school final,” DM, Kumar said proudly.
