Bhagalpur police come forward with a new concept of community policing first time in Bihar while focusing youths.

Bhagalpur police is ready to help youths by a special free coaching enter for them to make the concept of community policing success in city lives.

Today a workshop-cum-orientation programme was  organized today before launching  special coaching for students particularly from economically weak sections  to prepare comparative examinations especially  examination of junior ranking police officers of Bihar police. Coaching classes for the  first batch of successful selected aspirants for Junior ranking police officer examination of Bihar police would be started from December 1 next.

The workshop was inaugurating by senior superintendent of police (SSP), Bhagalpur,  Monaj Kumar  today, said that the proposed coaching center would not only help the students to achieve their goals but also give a positive massage of community policing in the society. “We would have the opportunity to interact as well penetrate inside the society through it. It  also would  help for initiating better policing in all ways,” he claimed.

The concept of Monaj Kumar once revived in the city which once witnessed the worst communal riots in 1989 mainly failing of community services by police in the district. Soon after the riots, people in this riot-ravaged city had started night watch systems as community basis and youths at each localities formed a group consists of each one of a family residing in any particular locality to watch their respected areas in night as days.

However the coaching center would  be started functioning  at open theater located at Sandis Compound ground from December 1 where expert cops besides civil officials and other experts concerned will take classes regularly. “We have requested master trainers who could also easily motivated students to achieve success,” he said while adding that some officials like Ramanand Kousal, Rakesh Singh Prabhakar (all Dy. SP rank officials) and Rajendra Chandravanshi, district provident fund official to spare at least one hour time for the center. “Chandravanshi has previous experience of running coaching classes so we just want to explore his experiences here,” Kumar pointed out.  Besides some experts from private educational/ coaching institutes would also join the coaching classes.

According to Kumar the coaching classes initially started with the aim to prepare the students for the exam of junior officials in Bihar police as the vacancies are recently announced. “We earlier asked candidates from the areas falling under all most all the police stations in Bhagalpur and after scanning  all the applications we selected some 500 students including sizable number of girls who would get free coaching in the center,” Kumar pointed out. He said another branch of the coaching center could be opened at Kahalgaon as number of applications from the students gradually increasing.

According to Kausal, the Dy. SP of Kahalgaon, during the selection of successful candidates,  physical fitness and economic background of each candidates were minutely monitored so that under privileged students could avail such free coaching.

A special web site for the coaching class in the workshop-cum-orientation programme launched  also today. Dy. SP. (rural), Prabhakar said that the candidate for the coaching would have to log on the web site to register his/her name first for enjoying all types of additional helps like important information , model question papers and other tips for the exam during   their preparations for facing the examination. He said that by  whatsApp all students would be connected so that massages/instructions could be sent time to time to them easily.

“I am preparing for the exam for the junior police offices which is scheduled on March 2018. But since I could not afford coaching institute, I lost my confidence while seeing my friends started going to such coaching centers. But thanks to Bhagalpur police which opened door for us,” said Arti, a student from Nathnagar. While many other students welcome the new concept of Bhagalpur police. “The coaching with experts faculties would also maintain the standard other private institutions here,” the students claimed.

“it’s indeed a good step initiated by the police here which has aimed to kill many birds in a single stone,” remarked observers.
