Targeting BJP, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, former deputy chief minister who also happens to be the younger son of Laloo Prasad Yadav, remained vocal against Nitish Kumar for his alleged practice to save the big leaders and bureaucrats involved in the Srijan scam.

A high voltage mid night drama was started here when Bhagalpur police diverted the convoy of Tejashwi towards the guest house of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour at around 12.30 am last night.

Tejashwi who has been on  a statewide ‘Janadesh Apman Yatra’ — a campaign against chief minister Nitish’s JD(U) for betrayal of public mandate — from Motihari since August 9 and was scheduled to address a public meeting at Sabour today mainly to expose the multi-crore government fund transfer scam by Srijan NGO.

However, he was intercepted by the police last mid night because Bhagalpur district administration had already impose section 144 crpc at Sabour areas. He reached station chawk and staged a dharna with his supporters including former union minister, Jay Prakesh Narayan Yadav and Bullo Mandal, RJD MP Bhagalpur at the roundabout of Ambedkar’s statute at Station Chawk.

His supports started raising slogans against Nitish Kumar and district administration for blocking the way of their leader but Tejashwi sniffed conspiracy by Nitish Kumar. “Look how he dare to stop me to address the mass meeting at Sabour because he is fearing that I would speak truth and also reveal how the government has been managing to save the big persons involved in the Srijan scam,” he addressed the large gathering at Staion Chawk last night.

His supporters alleged that the district administration had rejected its request  at the eleventh hour even  the RJD procured permission from the school managing committee to hold the meeting on its campus at Sabour. They  alleged that party had applied for permission on August 14, but the denial came at around 11 pm last night.

However with the intervention of senior superintendent of police, Manoj Kumar  the matter was brought under control as he somehow managed to convince him to call off his agitation at around 3.30 am this morning.

SSP Kumar however defending the decision said that the RJD leader’s  rally coincided with the Bishari puja, a local festival would have been a trouble for law and order situation. Pointing the  law and order issues and lack of adequate security personnel, Kumar said it was not possible for conducting the two events simultaneously with limited police men . “We earlier communicated him about this problem and requested him to postpone his public meeting there,” the SSP added.

Tejshawi this morning was literacy shouting before the media. “Nitish Kumar is the murderer of democracy, he has conspired for suppressing the real facts of the scam, instructed his officials at Bhagalpur for not  to allow us to speak against the scam publicly. He also alleged Nitish for strangling voice of the leader of opposition (himself). “He has shown a classic example of anarchy while giving us such treatment,” Tejashwi alleged.

He claimed the scam one of the biggest financial embezzlement in in Bihar is likely to be crossed  more than Rs 2000 crore. He also demanded a CBI probe in the scam, urged the prime minister to take action against deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who was the finance minister of Bihar during the period of the scam. He also  alleged that  in the fodder scam, many were implicated falsely but the government should conduct a detail probe in this scam honestly and fairly.

Tejashwi also reacted for cancelation of his public meeting and blamed the Nitish government for it. “It will not possible for anyone to keep us mum, we will spread country wide agitational programme to expose the real face of Nitish Kumar. We would storm the assembly and parliament against this scam and the state government’s approach to save the big fishes involved in it. Besides, we in delegations call on the president of India and prime minister to put our demands for taking proper actions against the culprits in the scam,” he told.

“We could not understand why the district administration had taken such step to prevent RJD’s meeting, Tejashwi would get more mileage for this,” political observers pointed out.
